On campus at the University of Portland with amazing palliative care nursing educators.
The Cunniff-Dixon Foundation (CDF) is dedicated to enhancing the provider-patient relationship at the end of life through education, collaboration, and recognition. In line with this mission, CDF proudly supports the End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC) Faculty Development and Leadership in Palliative Care Workshop for undergraduate and graduate faculty.
From July 24-26, 2025, CDF joined ELNEC and 130 nursing educators on the campus of the University of Portland for an inspiring exchange of knowledge, wisdom, and experience. The strong sense of camaraderie among attendees was palpable, as they forged meaningful connections with one another, to enhance the palliative care curricula taught to their students back home.
Organized by Andra Davis, PhD, MN, BSN, and Megan Lippe, PhD, MSN, RN, ANEF, FAAN, the workshop was established in 2024. It features nationally recognized presenters who empower participants to return to their schools with clear goals and actionable deliverables to enhance palliative care education.
As an added benefit, CDF’s Executive Director, Andy Peters, provided participants with access to Planning My Way, CDF’s advanced care planning tool. This resource enables students to gain hands-on experience with end-of-life care planning in the classroom, further enriching their experiential learning opportunities.
A highlight of the workshop was a heartfelt ceremony where CDF presented Erin Collins, MN, RN, CHPN, a 2025 Nursing Awardee, with her award certificate. Surrounded by her cheering peers and family, the emotional moment underscored the spirit of recognition and community that defines ELNEC and CDF’s shared mission.
